Wow, that's quite a few boxes

I came home this afternoon for lunch before I head back to school to work on a project due tonight, and was met at the door by these:

Boxes

7 boxes. The smallest one, I was expecting. It's my shirts.

But what could be in the other boxes? And who sent them to me?

Turns out a full five of the boxes held Frisbees. They have a nice assortment of colors, each with Microsoft and HP logos. Based on a quick count of one of the stacks in one of the boxes, I estimate I know have around 500 Frisbees in my living room, minus the few my kids swiped.

The final box contained refrigerator magnets with clips. These are really cool, and also have the HP and Microsoft logos.

Now I just have to figure out where they came from, and what I'm supposed to do with them. Am I holding them for a Frisbee smuggling ring?

A busy weekend ahead

I'm going to be going down to Stanford this weekend to participate in the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest. This will be the second time that I have competed. The first time, I had just returned to college, and was in the middle of my first class working in C++ for 5 years I wasn't expecting to do great, but my two weeks of practice paid off, and I didn't get dead last. This time around, I've been working with C++ for a few semesters, and I'm even taking a class on competitive coding in which I have had the chance to practice with some other students in an environment meant to simulate the competition. I'll let you know how I do, but don't expect great things.

Directly after the competition, I'll be driving over to the Hurricane Electric building named "The Matrix" to help out with an event they're putting on. I'll be sleeping in shifts and helping the people participating in the event with whatever they need throughout the night. The event is an all night hack-a-thon, and has had some great advertising, so I'm hoping I can help out and learn something for the events I'll be putting on in the future.
